Just found something out.

I just found out a good friend of mine, even although we have never actually met was killed last month. I did wonder why I hadn't seen him online but thought maybe his pc had died and he was saving up for a new one didn't know that had happened..
The Story. He loved his bike, he was always cleaning it, adjusting it here and there, making sure it was in 100% top notch condition, he had all the gear, he did speed but only when he knew the road was clean and it was safe to do so, he was young but not stupid, he could be a pain in the ass but somehow always managed somehow to get back on my side.
So Long Russell mate, take care, shame I never got to meet you I just know we'd have gotten on..

Re: A dangerous thing..

Okay someone posted a song I know and that I have in my collection just need to source it without the vocals in it so I can sing along to it :)
Some people that blog have been luck and have heard me but that was before I made that post, the inspiration almost, so if this all goes "a bit pete tong" then you can blame me, melonie and sharon (only kidding ladies)..
Jackie - you will hear me sing.
Heather - you will hear lonestar - I'm already there. It's gonna be tough I may just cry a little.
Oh and a rendition of Star Spangled Banner is also in progress, I was gonna do all the verses but erm I'm finding it hard to do verse 2...

Catch y'all later.

Honesty

What a random post topic this is, on reflection i suppose I got the idea from the word pictures on Sharon's site, the word popped into my head this morning at work, so while still at work I wrote out on a few sheets of A4 paper the entire content of this post minus basically this paragraph.

Well I thought it was about time I wrote something like this, time to be honest with you, I've seen what happens when others are honest on their blogs. Well what to can I say about me, in no particular order since this is my thoughts and my thought patterns here.

I'm not really a morning person, on the weekends I like to wake up around 11am, but during the week depending on what shift I'm on at work, I can be up at around 5:30 or around 8:15. Obviously At 5:30 all your likely to get out of me is "mornin'" and maybe a yes or no answer to a question or a nod / shake of the head, until I've woken up but that which doesn't really happen till I'm at work. I'm a bit more responsive at 8:30 after I've had a quick shower Im obviously more awake. Breakfast for me is a nice slice of toast and a nice fresh made cup of tea.

I get cranky when I'm hungry or tired , worse if both. This is very true, to some people im more cranky than with others, also if you annoy me enough your gonna get it with both barrels right between the eyes.

As I kid I used to have a quickfire temprament, but quick I mean quick basically if you'd annoyed me in the time it's taken you to read this I've acted on it. I calmed down a lot in the years since then.

Also as a kid all you'd have had to do was ping my nose and it would start to gush the red stuff, that has calmed down now as well only goes off if I've got a bad head cold.

I'm only 5'2" but like I've said ya don't wanna mess with me. I have a spinal condition called "scoliosis" basically it means curved spine, hmm so kids don't slouch unless you wanna end up with a spine shaped like a helter skelter which is basically what happens or can happen. I could have an operation to fix it but well there is a good chance I'd end up in a wheelchair so Im not doing it unless it starts to cause me constant pain. I only occationally bothers me normally it's my lower spinal muscles that lock up only i've i've been lifting something heavy or leaning over something for a long time that it annoys.

I'm 30 soon to be 31, well in 5 days from now to be precise and honest.
Thus im a librian and as such I can rarely decide on things, it makes life a little tricky / interesting as some of you can imagine being librians yourself or being married to / engaged to / going out with one.

I like people to tell me the truth when I ask them even if I might not like the answer. I dislike when people lie to me unless there is a valid and good reason behind it, sometimes it is required. Believe me being honest at the start is more often than not better thatn being found out in the end!

I may actually put a scan of this handwritten post I don't know yet.

I have two sisters who I love even if they are a bit of a pain at times. I have one nephew (see previous posts about him :) ) whom I adore. I have NO brothers that I consider alive, I have one but well he's dead as far as I'm concerned, don't ask why, just know it's something terrible enough that I'd disown him (previous post kinda fills it in).

I am my own worst critic, I hate many things about myself but I live with it, I also hate those aspects in others.

I once did one of those tests at school where you fill out a big list of questions about your likes and dislikes by colouring in boxes where 1 was strongly like and 5 was strongly dislike and it did come back with some interesting results from what I can remember of it, it came back with professions such as "nurse", "social worker" and the caring kind of work, I dismissed them all at the time well this was around 18 years ago. It took me 2 years of Uni (which didn't work out - I only have my friends from then and only the basics of memorys of the good times) and 5 years of being out of work and doing training courses to figure it out and find myself again. I found i was a good listener somehow and that I'm kinda alright at looking after people. So maybe it was just about right after all. I like helping people, again a few of you know this already :). Maybe I should change a few things here but no, I don't think I'll do that yet. "Councilor Gopher" has a ring to it no? but then again I could never charge anyone for the advice I'd give out, so maybe no-one would take my advice seriously.

You'll no doubt have noticed im well versed in the subtle art of sarchasm, it's the way I greet people with a joke in my heart and well sometimes it works, I'd say it works rather well. I mean I'm sure you can tell when I'm being serious and when Im being sarchastic. Oh say I don't think I will post this pencil written script online as well you'd have to take 3 days to decypher and decode the writing and well (this is page 3 halfway down or so).

I hope this helps you to understand me and the way I think a little more afdter all a little honesty goes a long way. Im sure a few of you can relate to that :)

Like My New Clock?

Well I thought I'd put a clock on my blog just so you guys know what time it is over here in the UK (well +/- 1 hr - I ain't doing a 3hr recode just to get DST figured out lol)
It also tells me what time it is in the BWTP, a bit simplistic but simple works best ;) notice the 2 different date styles English for the UK and American for the BWTP ;) just my way of helping take the confusion out of things..

Sunday Mornin'

Well it's a nice enough day here in the wilderness (well it is a bit wild sometimes)
According to my Weather plugin for Firfox it's a nice 15C(59F), Partly Sunny and with 17mph wind from the WSW. I suppose this isn't really that bad for this time of the year. Well I'm gonna get back to my nice cup of fresh ground coffee and sit and read a few or more blogs..
Y'All Take Care now.

A song I heard on the radio

I was on my way home this afternoon when this song came on my local radio station.
Okay Westlife is kinda cheesy but I don't care it's not the band it's the song
Westlife - Flying Without wings

Everybody's looking for that something
One thing that makes it all complete
You'll find it in the strangest places
Places you never knew it could be
Some find it in the face of their children
Some find it in their lover's eyes
Who can deny the joy it brings
When you've found that special thing
You're flying without wings

Some find it sharing every morning
Some in their solitary lives
You'll find it in the words of others
a simple line can make you laugh or cry
You'll find it in the deepest friendship
The kind you cherish all your life
and when you know how much that means
You've found that special thing
You're flying without wings

So impossible
as it may seem
You've got to fight
for every dream
'cause who's to know
which one you let go
would've made you complete

Well, for me it's waking up beside you
to watch the sunrise on your face
to know that i can say I love you
in any given time or place
its the little things that only I know

Those are the things that make you mine
And it's like flying without wings
'Cause you're my special thing
I'm flying without wings

And you're the place my life begins
and you'll be where it ends
I'm flying without wings
And that's the joy you bring

I'm flying without wings
-------------------------------------
Read the lyrics hear the song in your head and say you can't relate in someway to the words..
I'm flying without wings - reason everyone of my friends who I know all around the world that's you guys that is :)

A dangerous thing..

Okay I thought it was time for another audio post from me but erm with a twist.
Now a lucky few people outside my family, around the world have heard me sing, even although I think I'm not great they insist I am. Well here's the thing I had this Idea I'd put up an audio post of me singing something but well let's just say you vote on it :) that's right you get to pick what I do, it's got to be something I can find the words to and more importantly something i can find the music too so I can learn it, so if you pick something I don't know well it will take me longer as I've gotta learn it..
Me out got an early start and a longish day ahead of me..
Oh Chase thank's for the invite fix :)

Only in the US

At work today, having lunch so decided to have a quick read a newspaper that had been left but they weekend staff, it was in the "Sunday Express" so it's their story which I going to run snippets from and since they don't appear to have a "newspaper archieve" I'll have to just read it from the A3 > A5 copy i have in front of me.
Now it looks like a normal shop, 3 stories high on 5th Avenue, nice swanky place. Wait what's that it's a Toy Shop "America Girl Place" where the only thing they sell cost you $85 and well that's just the begining, you have to accessorise don't cha?
Well each "doll" is themed to corrospond with a particular era of American History. That's right folks it's a Doll store. It has boutiques, beauty salons, restraunts and even a thetre but its still a doll store, oh and the beauty salons are for the dolls to get a cut n blow dry in. I'm serious folks.
There are full wardrobes, pets, even a health and beauty spa - by appointment only no less. I'll quote some of the prices for things for a doll bag - $58. An escaped civil war slave doll who has to have her $159 trunk to accompany her. I mean you can go to a dolls tea party it'll cost ya though, a birhday tea will cost between $32 and $60 a head. It's a day out in itself just to see it all but if you go make sure you've just remorgaged the house or inherited a bundle...

Another Idea..

Wow two ideas in the same 24 hour period.
Another though for the "management" to consider is moving the trailer park but not moving it.
Thought about it to somewhere like "http://www.blogworldtrailerpark.net/" it's only an idea but let me look into how much it will cost to host and the restrictions on how much space / bandwidth there will be for it.. I know a few places hmm.. Gonna look on webby.com because well if heard really good things about them and the Guy who runs it is a good guy, has a humor letter, hosts numerous e-card sites like angeleyes.com to name one...

Let me look into it tis only an idea.
Oh and erm how do I put a post on to the trailer park if I wanted to?
Leave a Comment or E-mail me [ I have Mailwasher pro so don't even think about spamming it ]

I had an inspired idea. a Tartan template but hmm I can find one anywhere. Then I though if I could find a tartan I'm sure with my graphic skills I could tweak the template melonie uses but with a tartan theme I tried but erm it well just didn't work at all :( HELP! anyone wanna try and find me a color scheme that will go with "flower of Scotland Tartan" or suggest how I can manage to incorporate it in to my template?

Man whata day.

To borrow a phrase from Mr Dax..
Just Damn, that's how I kinda feel right now my lower spine is protesting lots.. Hmm muscles in that area feel like they wanna lock up.. :( well I did get out the office in to the fresh air I suppose. Screw that, that's not gonna happen again for a while, mind you not gonna be needing to go to that site again for a while at least. Well until they move the portacabin we have all the gear in..
Hmm now simple job todo really: Move Monitor, DVR, adsl modem, the phone line and power for a camera and the coax for it as well.. Simple enough well hmm
1st I find out that instead of being a secondary socket which I can take off the wall, replace with a junction box and move the socket else where it wasn't It was a master socket and well in this country you ain't allowed to touch one side of it, you can wire into it as it's got a connector block in a part that can be taken off to allow for this. The route we had roughly planned out to take the phone cable (for which I used Cat 5e - well it's up to spec enough) couldn't find a way to get the cable that way, ended up having to take it the long route around a solid wooden fence.
2nd Typical of a now EX-employee there was cabling everywhere, nothing marked up on nothing so I had no idea what was what, thankfully nothing was really needed so I could disconnect it all.. Which took time..
3rd I though there was like normal a power switch at the bottom of the camara pole as I need to supply power to it to allow me to move it.. was there erm... NO! had to put a join in that well I wasn't happy about but it's done
4th Again thought there would be a join the coax cable at the bottom no had to make one myself, I then had to feed those two cables through a piece of flexible conduit to hide it as much as possible..
I then had to take all 3 cable: phone, power and coax to the portacabin and in, had to take the cable up on to one portacabin, across to another and then finally on to the one where the equip was going, tidy it all up cable ties every so often, some stuck to side of the cabins, going around the cabins avoiding the mains power from the generator as much as possible..
I then have to find a way of putting the cable through the wall of the metal cabin, found a space thankfully. I was then about to connect it up and well it was break time for the guys on site. We got part of the site canteen to put our stuff.
We wait, finish tidying up stuff, packing stuff we don't need and stuff that's going back in the van.
Finally able to get it, hook up the phone, test it. Thankfully it worked, otherwise me would have been well I won't swear but you can imaging my words.
Then got the system set back up again, it fires up, camera movable, remote connection up, remote movable :).. Done, dusted, tidy up and go home
I arrive on site: 10:30 am
I Leave the site: 4:30 pm
I finish work at: 4:00 pm
Thus I came home, having not eaten a thing since 9am when i had a rather nice roll on sausage.. No Coffee, no Tea, no nothing.. Im amazed I was still able to operate at 3:30-4pm. Hmm need to appologies to colleage who was with me and who finishs at 7pm was a bit short / rude by that end.. But I was totally fucked..
Anything said about it tomorrow will get THAT LQQK..

Got a tune in my head.

I've got a tune i heard on the radio stuck in my head, I can't from the life of me remember what it's called and well I can't also remember where I heard it so I can't like go look up the show's tracklisting online
ARGH! Oh well I think a few small bottles of something nice should clear that up..

Wednesday, August 31, 2005

Hope your all safe.

Hmm having read a few items on "Kathyrne" or whoever the ho-ha you spell it. All I can say is ouch and thank my lucky stars we don't get anything remotely like that here.
I just hope all the bloggers in the area are ok.
Now if only i had about 10,000 Tonnes of premix and a few days Im sure I could fix a few holes in the dykes "protecting" New Orleons.. Hmm I guess it was built by the Dutch to remind them of home, never did understand the netherlands people.

Peace

Say a prayer for her please, say a prayer for all your friends all over the place I do every day although you never see my lips move or hear it in my voice, somethings do need to be said, the thought is enough :)
Im out of here as well gee gosh darn it I'm gonna have to go in early tomorrow instead of being able to lay in bed till just after 8am I'm up 5:30am.

I've survived

Okay I've survived, 1st day back for a while but it's like I've never been away. I mean that at work nothing has changed, the same problems are still there, but we've been busy with other things and it's all waiting on other people to get us numbers or do as we've asked. It was a nice quiet relaxing day. It was a nice pleasent day outside as well with only a little rain, warm but not too warm, just right which is a rarity. I think that's all i need to say about today.

I shall not be moved!

No, you can't make me! I shall not be moved from this computer. I'm not going back to work I'm on holiday.
Sadly that's all totally untrue! It's back to work for this scury dog tomorrow and oh boy is it gonna be a fun week, I don't think so! Need to be up in 8hrs exactly to waken up, get my work stuff read and drive to work for 7am once more, mind you finishing at 4pm (an there is NO way in HELL!!!! I'm working past that unless there is no way I can't avoid it) I know what i just said is a contridictional statement of fact or something like that but it's true.
Posting back to "sporadically sporadic", comment back to "spotty at best" etc, etc.

Happy Blog Birthday

Well its hard to believe but only a year ago Adventures of a Domestic Engineer came into the blog world. We saw the first posts and saw promise, I got there a little late but I read all the posts from the first one to where it was at that point. The trials and tribulations have kept us amused & entertained as well as no doubt anger, mad and every emotion you can imagine. Why? well sharon spoke from the heart and we found out that took courage to do, but we've all grown to love her for who she is, we know that we might never find out the whole truth, that we only get a glimse into her life that somethings are kept private and well I for one respect that, mind you that's how i was brought up to respect other people. We've all been virtually in the room when she's been at the meetings, beside her in the hospital praying she pulled through, maybe sheding a few tears at the "firsts" that have happened. To Bing, Chatterbox and Leo, your mom, is 1 in a million and Im sure you know that, her love for you and everyone about her flows from her heart. So from this side of the Pond all the way to West Virginia, heres a big hug going out to you sharon :). As to what's to come in the following year, who knows, we shall have to see. Personally I can't wait. Hmm one of the reasons I moved my Diary from where it was to here was I seen how easy it was to use thanks to a few people. Moogie thanks for the intro, to Nurse Melonie and Laura :) you 2 take care of sharon for me since Im not there :)
I'm gonna sign off now before otherwise my vision is going go blurry..

A trip to the zoo

Well we went to the world famous Edinburgh Zoo, why is it famous well for sheer size of it's penguin enclosure and of course it's famous once a day penguin perade :). One thing that was missing was the giraffe's but according to "the masterplan" they will be back as soon as new suitable enclosure has been built since one of the died of old age and the other is now in a zoo in denmark. They have everything but don't try and leave kids they've stopped taken them :P One thing we were too early for was the arrival of the koala bears, the enclosure was in it's final stages and next week will see the arrival of them. One highlight of the day was that there were a troop of Norweign soliders there, the reason to give a penguin a long service medal and a promotion. *hears people going eh! and / or fainting* Okay you can adopt an animal practically anyone and they adopted many years ago one of the penguins so with full military tradition it got it's promotion we only heard the cermemony as we were in another part of the zoo at the time but it would have been fun.
See anytime anyone *god forbid they come over to visit me - why visit me!* is in east of scotland, I know and have shown a few places to visit there are more but I'm so used to them I need reminding sometimes.

An a Mazing Day afternoon.

Well the sun might not have been shining much but it was a fun day out with the nephew and my sister once more. We went to Cairnie Fruit Farm & Mega Maze it was fun we got lost for about an hour in the maze, well not so much lost as navigating our way around finding various flags poles with clues along the way, as the maze was laid out like Nelson's Flagship and we had to "sail" around getting the various clues in order to solve the 2 puzzles. The first puzzle was realitivly simple match the flag up the flag pole to it's pair on the list that was there, each picture on the list had a letter, you wrote that letter in the square provide. The second part was a little tricker it was in semaphore but we had a semaphore decoder on the sheet we got handed to write it down on. The first once solved gave the name of the ship we were to avoid and the second gave us the name of the captain of the ship it was fun. Now your thinking it's a maze what makes it special apart from it's shape well if I tell you that the "walls" were made out of corn plated to represent the shape. Oh and the maze changes year on year so next year it will be something different. There is also a play area next to the maze with pedel go-carts and trampolines and other things to keep the kids amused. Now if your really don't want to do any of that it is possible to go there and simply pick all kinds of fresh fruit (you pay for what you pick, but you pick it - pre picked is available but obviously it cost more) you can pick strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrents, redcurrents, gooseberries and something i've never tried but I think it's a cross between a raspberry and a blackcurrent, tayberries. Oh and I can recommend the strawberries *yum*

the day trip out.

Thanks to sharon for reminding me inadvertantly about posting this. Well since I'm on holiday and the younger of my two sisters had some how managed to book the same 2 weeks off work we decided to take my nephew to a local steam railway and train museum. The train you see pictured is the very one they use. It was fun, it was also momentous in that both my sisters and I went together, now I'm 30 and put it this way we ain't went out like this in my lifetime. Anyway the museum itself is over a nice footbridge over the railway line and my oldest sister has a little bit of trouble with bridges so I took my nephew over armed with a camera, I'll try and see if I can't get some pics up online at some point, it was fun they had a set of points all set up with sets of lights that you could change to the various modes and it didn't let you change the points until both were red, was really good. They had trains from yesteryear there it's was a really good afternoon out. We went back over the bridge and we could hear the steam train as we walked back to the ticket office, of course by this time my nephew was hungry so we had something to eat and then boarded the train for the journey upto an abandoned clay mine which we didn't go and visit all my nephew wanted to do was watch the train as it moved back past the coach we were in to the other end of the train for the journey back. You could feel the power of the train as it pulled I mean Really feel it. Of course no trip out was without some shopping getting done which we did before hand of course where we went had to be next to a train station didn't it. My nephew was going to wait for the next train which would have been about 25 minutes as I thought we'd just missed one but as per normal we got lucky and it was running a little late, so we got pictures of it and he still wanted to wait, cheeky little scamp that he is. I managed to persude him otherwise, we would have been left and my 2 sisters would have gone home (hey they would have you know). All in all it was a good day apart from when my older sister insisted we had to be back home for 4 so she'd be in when my brother-in-law would be home. I was in the back of the car beside my nephew so I didn't see the wringing of hand and the glaring between traffic and the watch. Gotta love sisters sometimes eh!

A fiesty Tribute.

Okay since Christina has gone back to reality or so it would seem, I had an idea

No more blog noir......sigh.
Posted by sadie at August 9, 2005 04:25 PM

Now given that Christina was also the one coming up those great titles - like the Blog Western I got in my links. I though why not have a blog noir tribute to christina, I'm stuck for a subject matter but I was thinking of covering all of the previously covered blogger short stories in one seriously big thing over a few more chapters, that lets some people get a few more twists and turns in. I'll even have a go although I doubt my efforts will be close to Moogie, WitNit,Velocigod or even Zonker to name a few, but I will try so tell me what you think, tell you if you wanna write a chapter. It's an idea a lasting tribute to the Fiesty One.

Strength and Honor.

Holy Grail Eh!?!

Saw this over at Sharon's blog and couldn't resist. Darn it

Take the quiz: "Which Holy Grail Character Are You?"

Sir Bedevere

Well, now, uh, Launcelot, Galahad, and I, uh, wait until nightfall, and then leap out of the rabbit, taking the French, uh, by surprise. Not only by surprise, but totally unarmed!

Time to show me where you all are

Okay I've seen this on a few blogs now and thought it was about time I got one of my own :) So feel free to post a pin on my guestmap. It's not the best res but it will do for now :)

*Faints!*

A Musical Treat Possibly

Okay after much, much deliberation and thought I decided to post something of mine I recorded on my keyboard, the recording isn't brilliant done as it was on a homemade cable between my keyboard and pc and otherthings. I just pray this works

Prelude in C

It's a biggish file 1.17mb in size, so I quickly made a popup page for it. :)

Re: Holiday

Hmm Laura sounds like a good plan, but for one or two small problems.

  1. I don't got a passport

  2. I don't got the cash to pay for one

  3. Nor the cash for the tickets

  4. The visa I'd need to get into the US

  5. The cash for hotel etc..

I'm sure there are more I'd love to but hmm I have honestly never been outside the UK ever. Rarely out of scotland and on those occasions it was normally to stay with relatives for a holiday away from home. Have had a few trips to London, most recent was about 2 yrs ago when I visited my best mate down there as well as a friend who'd come over from Indi for a visit. There are pictures of that visit somewhere online. I'll ask my friend where they are. Oh and read back my blog for what happened my last 2 holidays. Last one I was renovating the attic so I could put PC's up here out the way, and the one before that well I'll let you read about that one Here. Hmm not one I wanna remember at all. Entries pre about Dec last year are from my old Dear Diary site and as they were on there if it confuses you Melonie / Laura.

Woo hoo

Only a few more day till I'm on holiday for 2 whole weeks - that's 2 weeks away from work, not going anywhere but I'm pretty sure there is stuff to be done and the like..
Yes I know this is a late post or is that early depends on your point of view lol..
Well darn it blame my mate for getting me hooked on stuff like World of Warcraft.

How Do You Live Your Life?

Spotted this one on Moogie's Blog and was curious as always and well it pretty much sums me up...

How You Life Your Life

You seem to be straight forward, but you keep a lot inside.

You're laid back and chill, but sometimes you care too much about what others think.

You tend to have one best friend you hang with, as opposed to many aquaintences.

You tend to dream big, but you worry that your dreams aren't attainable.

Darn I'm hooked

Anyone ever played a game that they couldn't stop playing or read a book that they couldn't put down till they'd finished.. Been like that with the harry potter novels, I have all 3 games (don't ask I lead a very sheltered life - maybe). My good friend was over and he's been going on about this new game he's been playing for like a few months now and he's going on and on about it and said last weekend that he'd bring it over to show me.. Well gosh darn it if he didn't go a carry out his threat promise, now Im hooked on it, he let me create a char on a realm and get used to it.. darn was nice so he bought the game for me and now I have an account and I'm resisting as much as possible to play it as little as possible. My holidays start a week today for 2 weeks we I need them!!!

Melonie

Well someone wanna head over to Melonie's blog and tell me my bug fixes worked please.. I see them fine here but I need someone to say yes they worked..
I know it has just humor me - darn well fixed it good and proper this time..
Don't ask how I just have let's just say it involves a bit of Style Manipulation and a smack in the head bug fix for IE (stupid thing wouldn't read Stylesheet I put in correctly!

Dear Melonie

Hi Melonie, I found your blogger template and found out the people who are hosting can't fix it nor can those fine people at blogger-help or whatever site it was just google bambou blog template and it's the 1st one.
Well looking at the fixes they suggest I went a scanning and hunting.. looked very closely at image. When I say close I mean I could make out individual pixels, found the margins to use, fixed them all - works sweet and the content all behaves within the confines of the areas they are meant to (or so the Theory goes).

If you want me to add in the links / coding you've put in, e-mail me the code or where I can find it so I can add it as adding it from the "blog" has "strange!!!" results and I mean that with a capital STRANGE!
Anyway I better go now as I've got to be up in under 6hrs.. me forget time flys when having fun...

A Challange.

Hmm here is one for you!
Try and figure me out. I'm serious here - I can't figure me out so come on give me a hand here, that was the whole point of me starting this blog / the DD pages before it was to have a written record of me and my musings to help me figure me out..
Why else would I describe myself the way I do..
"A Chinese puzzle in an enigma - best way to describe me.. Off the wall in many many ways..."

Oh and I thought instead of guess blogging pen pals maybe just a side thought..
See good looks run in the family (well kinda)

Monday, July 25, 2005

Gee Wiz

Hmm given the comment from Melonie I think I'll withhold letting him blog for a while.. Unless I want him eaten alive so to speak.. your right he's cute and cuddly and has a way of getting his own way.. Mind you I sure many bloggers out there could handle him easy.. Eh Sharon, Melonie, Moogie, Fiesty, Dax too, maybe even Zonker might manage, as I'm sure Eric and da V-man would handle him no bother.
Hmm why do I suddenly think of the Film Lilo and Stitch..
where Experement 626 aka Stitch say "... I'm also cute and fluffy..." or the like.. Your getting my point.. Oh he's needs aren't much really, Plenty to do, kids "food".. you know.. Hmm well hmm I think I've posted enough useless information for one post.

Sunday, July 24, 2005

A Thought..

Hmm well during a conversation I had with the lovely Melonie she gave me an idea well not so much an idea as a thought.. A Fan club for my 7yr old nephew.. Well he's cute..

See Told you he's a cutie - like I can be ;) Well what I though given something I saw via Christina's Blog at For A Breath was letting you kid/kids do a guest apperence on your or like amelie allowed a guest blog by her blog sibling.. You get the idea don't you.. hmm the pic is the latest school photo of my nephew Connor otherwise known as Trouble and a few other names... Anyways just a thought Must dash I have to be up at 5:30am but I thought I need to put this idea into my blog before I erm what was I saying oh yeah forget.. Hmm I'd need to ask my sister's permission if I wanted him to guest on my blog, she's the boss mind you she managed a not bad job a bring me up so my nephew is in good hands.. It's a long story and maybe some other time I tell you it or some of it.. Hmm or would that let you too close into the workings of my mind..

Midweek Madness

Well it's wednesday and I've read all of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.. No I'm not going into what happens, other people will do that for me, I'm going to make you READ the book if you want to..
I'm mad not because of what happens in the book although it is good, has a nice twist or 3 in it..
I'm mad because I've realised what a nightmare wiring job I've just given myself to do.. Now it started off simple enough, take a few wires from a unit's output relay wire it's common pin to +5 volts so that when a certain condition is met the relay activates and the other connection I have off that relay is connected to common and connect a LED + reistor to 0v so that the relay activates the LED switchs on.. Now repeat that for say 14 units, that is 28 wires.. No that's not much really until you realise each is about 10m long. I'm not finished I though why not set it so that if a unit is okay the LED glows green and if not it glows red.. okay 1 more wire, now I need to be able to commnunicate back to that unit via a Push button input it has, 1 more wire, it has audio abilities so there is 3 more wires (but they can be common to each unit) only the unit who's button is pressed will work ;)... so that's 3 wires +
3-5 x 14 => 45 - 73 wires coming back now that's a NIGHTMARE... HELP!! before I crack up...
This needs done and dusted.. Also I have to build to button console as well, interface it with a few more things and the whole thing will work as it should..
ACK - what wire is this.. blue/green what unit is it again.. Unit 7 no unit 3 no unit 14 ah yeah it is or is it!!!

It's Good

Hmm it's Good so far, quite a few twists in it already. Not going to say anything just yet.. Read the book is all I'm going to say...

It's Almost Time....

It's almost time, it's almost here less than 2 hours to go till it goes on sale in the UK. I've got mine reserved. I'll pick it up tomorrow at some point.
Now hopefully your not wondering what I'm talking about if you are you must have been living under a rock somewhere for the past 2 years. I am of course talking about the Latest Harry Potter Novel.. A few lucky lucky people even get to meet JK Rowling as she reads from the latest book at midnight in Edinburgh Castle. It will be fun. I can't wait I only have to do one thing once I get it, keep it hidden from my cousin who is up with her husband and dog for a week. It's my oldest sister and brother-in-laws Silver Wedding Anniversary party tommorrow Oh boy this is gonna be fun. I don't think I'll stay for long, partys ain't my thing and I'll be tired catching up on sleep from the past week Unless I catch up on most of it tonight and get up about midday, I don't think I'll get away with that somehow.

A week ago Today

Hmm This is a seprate Post because it needs to be..
It's a week since the Bombings in London, it seems longer
Suicide Bombers indeed, from what I've read and heard on the news the kids that blew themselves up were like you and I, well up to a point. They were hard working, were deep in the muslin faith but someone whispered in their ear a posionious tale that lead to this momement. I'd love to quote what the Driver of the bus that Blew up said but I can't remember exactly but it summed up what Britain stands for, what makes you who you are.. Last Thursday was a slap in the face, Not something you do to britain or a british city because we slap back only harder..
There was a 2 minute silence around the world at 12 Noon BST, observed most poinently in places where the bombers have hit, Bali, Madrid, New York..
Im proud to be Scottish, proud to be British, I don't judge you on your colour, your creed, your faith.. If you piss me off, it is something you've said or done not anything else.
God is watching, he's keeping score, he knows where everyone's going when they die
Allah is beside him, looking down and frowning, wondering what twisted muderous person is perverting his teachings, his teachings of peace.
To quote a film for a second:
"It is not about Anger, it is about Peace"
"It is not about knowing your enemy, it is about knowing yourself"
there is a third line that escapes me but you get the drift. Be a peace with yourself be at peace with those around you.. If you know yourself, you know your enemy too strange but true..
Shalom

Thursday (I think)

Hmm I think it's thursday, right now Im not sure as my brain has STOPPED working.. well so would yours if you'd been up since 5:30 in the am and it's now late..
In the past 100hrs or so, 50 of which have been a little too warm, I've worked 48 of them, gotten about 15hrs sleep I'd say since like sunday night. So you can imagine what im like.. Half dead but at least I'm cool again, the heat has gone for now.
I'm going to get some zzz's I may post tomorrow I don't know.
Actually I will.... I have to Saturday is Important

I'm Meltin'

I am too, sheesh it's been hot over here the past couple of days but thankfully the weather is apprently set to break and cool down by the end of the week.. Now imaging 20+ C (68+ F) outside no wind as such, me inside a room that is like 6ft by 12ft (approx probably a bit bigger attempting gauge sizes from drawings I have.. windows open, blinds closed and oh yeah 26 14" CRT monitor + 4 PC's + 44 Pieces of CCTV equipment to gather and record images all in that one space
1 floor fan blowing air about (well warm air).. and Me working 12hrs due to colleage being off on paternety leave for a week! I am able to escape for a while but no where is really any cooler room not really designed to allow air flow through it unfortunatly.

Its a Girl

That Headline got ya didn't it, thought I'd been keeping something quiet for 9 months eh no such luck! Me as a dad, heaven forbid - no I have no life as it is.

Well folks I just heard from my colleague at work we do a split shift so that there is a time when we are both in so one of us can do something like do alarm services and the like..
Well I've been waiting for this for a couple of weeks now.. His lovely wife had a beautiful baby girl called kayla (I'm sure she is, not seen a photo yet) this morning at 9:30am GMT and she weighs in at 7 pounds 8oz [3.4 kg]. Looks like I'll be working 12hr shift for at least the next week or possibly 2 to give him some time with his lovely baby daughter, not looking forward to the hours but then again it will be fun and it might just be worth it when I get paid for it.
More news when I get it..

Saturday, July 09, 2005

Hmm Saturday

Hmm what a nice day it's been, okay maybe not superb but then again I wouldn't be posting this right now if it was superb cos I'd still be at T in The Park, rocking away to who ever was on stage.. Hmm mind you never been to concert / gig / outdoor event type thing in my whole life so I don't really know what I'm missing just what I see on TV...
It's been Nice and sunny all day, bit too warm for me and my poor pc's
Got a nice book today on PHP, MySQL and Apache - looks really good, been meaning to find a book on all 3 really, thought I'd end up with 3 books, nope got it in 1..

I can't believe only 1 person left a comment on my last post... Even a comment to say what a load of Bull it was or something, I take critique on the chin you know.

Okay Back to doing what I was doing which is Chatting on Yahoo chat (yahoo.com) in Computers Lobby:1 why Yahoo.com and not Yahoo.co.uk, I suggest you go to yahoo.co.uk and see why it is erm well just too weird..

London Calling.......

I know what I said yesterday but somethings just have to be said..
No doubt many of you will have heard about the bombings in London, Many places have good live coverage of what is happening but I'd just like to make a small point
London my heart goes out to those who have been killed or injuried, their family and friends as well.
I want to make a small point, this is my own opnion but it counts.

  • This was Not Religously Motavated

  • This was Not Race Related Attack

  • This was a Cowardly Dispicable Act

A few points to be noted about London

  • In 1940-41 The Luftwaffe bombed London, tried and failed

  • The IRA has tried to several times and Failed

  • Building have been blown up but again Failure

Failed, Failure to do what.. To Kill the british spirit that one thing that binds all of us, no matter our montery status, our colour / creed or religion. Young men, woman, father, mother, sons, daughter have fought for this country in various parts of the world to make sure the British Spirit never dies, to make sure that the people we are fighting for and against know what we stand for.. Okay people have been killed, injuried but we will recover it will take time, but we will do this..

Heres how to beat the Terrorist
Go around to your neighbours, check they are ok
It doesn't matter if they are white and you aren't or vice versa.
If they are muslin and you are Christian.
Religion doesn't matter, colour doesn't matter
Go around make sure they are okay..
Do something you wouldn't do, go to church, a mosque, temple or other religious site better yet go to one that isn't of your religion, find out about the custom first, go listen, understand.
That is how to beat Terrorists, show a UNITED FRONT not a divided one..
UNITED in grief, UNITED in understanding..
Brother, Sister hear my words, hear my call, do not hate those who are different from you, know that they are different, understand them, many cultures, one race - this country is a diverse mix, Hate has no place in your heart - hate only those truly deserving of it.. Those who attempt to put fear in your heart through the use of the BOMB..
Do NOT Give in to it.. Fear cannot hold you if you don't let it hold you sway..

It's the weekend

Hmm well yesterday was a nice sunny day so I guess summer isn't quite over yet..
Hmm not actually done anything today well apart from send a letter by air mail.. I really should write to more people it's fun, just realised that. E-mail doesn't quite allow you the eliquincy that handwriting does, it can't really convey a feeling, emotion like a letter can, sure you can use different colors and bold or italic text but it's not the same as a letter. It comes close but not that close besides there is nothing better than coming downstairs of a morning, picking up the mail that's just arrived and seeing a letter from a friend.. Okay so it takes longer than an e-mail to get there, it's slower than calling them but then again overseas / long distance calls ain't cheap.. Hmm I think that's enough from me on this subject, as Moogie would say I'm going to hand it over to you for your thoughts on the matter.

I guess that summer done with..

Well that's it this part of the world has had summer, no seriously we've had our allocated number of really sunny days for this year already a whole 5.. I'm just kidding but well it's now back to rain, warm rain and it know it want's to thunder the air is that way, getting heavy, waiting for a break... then it's flash followed by the crack of the lightning as it accelerates the poor air molecules out the way..

Hmm Well it's still warm in my attic even with the skylight open. darn I need Air Con in here.. oh wait im in the UK what would I need Air for when I'd only use it for like a month in the year total. I guess I'll just stick to my desk fan in order to cool off, or I'll just have to keep my retro styled mini fridge fully stocked..

A Glorious Weekend

Well wow, what a lovely weekend it's been, nice an sunny, a bit too hot of my liking but I did get out in it a little bit today.
Went up to sister's so I could get help washing car cos I don't like doing it but it needed done, ended up doing mine as her's as well and getting little or no help (should have known). Was meant to be going meeting up with some on Sat but that didn't turn out at all (Never mind it's only me, unimportant me). Anyway back to today, lovely day, too hot to do much but washed car anyway.. Then nephew decided he wanted to play with his water guns... hmm with his friends who'd come over, sister though she'd got it timed perfectly so that the 2 that were there would be gone before his next friend got dropped off, well it almost happened that way, she was looking for 5 minutes peace didn't happen. I ended up getting soaked not before I got nephew and his friend (who had his own water pistol) wet... nephew cheated though kept running in and out of house to stop us getting him... but we got him.
Was fun, it was only water but what fun and it gave sister peace (sort of for a little while) Just shows you what can be done with a little bit of water don't it..

How do you really feel?

2. Are we friends?Hmm I'm sure we are. I remember stuff for you..

3. When and how did we meet?Hmm Now that's going back, meet IRL never, wandered across each other somewhere in Free-DC land and well got hooked on your blog..

4. Do you have a crush on me? If no….why the hell not? Not a crush as such but you are cute, hmm darn gosh is it warm in here?

5. Do you read my blog regularily?Yeah. I do even when you've not posted for a few days I still check just in case you have.

6. Give me a nickname and explain why you picked it.Moogie, well you told me to call ya that otherwise Moogie J would come over and pummel me..

8. What was your first impression?Your a lady who gets what she wants, when she wants it but is a little bit soft when required. You don't take no crap of nobody..

A fine weekend

Well this weekend has been superb, well almost weather was nice yesterday and ok today, cloudy but still warm, Average Temp round here is about 21C (70F)
Played football with nephew yesterday down the park after it cooled down a little it was hotter earlier in the day and I had other things to do like get me a fan to cool me and my poor computer down... Yeah it was actually hotter in my attic than outside, it has this weird ability to trap what you don't want it to trap, like cold air in winter and hot air in summer...
Mind you I realised I couldn't spend any more one after I'd bought the fan, hmm needed pay day to come around soon but that won't be till end of the month.. I got enough in my account to cover what I need but not much more, guess I've went a bit nuts with the spending... Oh well I'm off to bed, to see if I can get some sleep before I have to get up for work tomorrow morning at 8:15.

My Grandmother

Hmm well sharon got me thinking about my grandparents..
I never got to know either of my grandfathers which is a pity as my mother's father sounded a really nice gentleman to know and well my other grandfather I'm kinda glad I didn't hmm if my dad is anything to go by, but thats a whole other can of worms. I only really knew my mum's mum, my nana as I called her. Was great every weekend we go and stay there, watch "CHiPs" and things like that, it was the early 80's, eat gammon flavour crisps hmm darn you can't get them and smoky bacon just aint the same.. Anyway I'll never forget the day we found her dead, I think we'd went down to see if she needed anything from the shops or something I was only 5/6 at the time.. there she was laying on the floor between the kitchen and the living room, toast was burning, she can't have been long dead as the toast wasn't that burnt (or at least I think it was).. Then it was all a blur.. Me and my sister got shunted out the way while the family took care of it, I don't even know where she's buried. It seems I wasn't to get to know because I was too young.. I hurts a little. My other gran died not that long ago, I didn't really know her at all yet I was expected to go. I was working that day, in the same company I work for just now, my sister worked there and was going, I didn't I couldn't I don't know what it is about my father family that just makes me steer clear of them.. Only one I give a stuff about is an uncle who is mentally retarded, a little slow on the uptake of things but he's alright the others I dont give a toss for.. Sorry Nana i haven't been to see you, one day I will, one day.. I'll find the courage in my heart to find you..
Darn that was hard to write..

A Film / Turned Down Again..

I gotta say I was looking forward earlier on to seeing Batman Begins with my good friend but she sent me a cryptic text saying "I cannot go" turns out she had to work late, so why didn't she put that in... I replied saying Ok, No problem, I'm gonna see a film, see you monday... replies with "I'm still at work" but I think what they hey, I was planning on going out so I'm darn well tooting going out and I did and I had said that to my friend earlier in the day that I was gonna see a film with or without her... Hmm should have seen it coming..

So I went and Saw "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" good film, not really for kids, some good stunts in it and oh yeah more than a few bullets... Hmm i enjoyed it dispite the fact I needed to "go" most of the film, I held on... darn knew it was a bad idea to drink Pepsi Max before the film but I had time to kill so I killed it by drinking finished it, got my popcorn and a 2nd drink incase I needed it... ate most of my popcorn before 15 minutes of the film was done, mind you had been sat there listening to music / trailers / additional trailers / the movie for about an hr..
Also let's just say it's good a few momements of absolute comedy..

Moogie - MIA

Folks its happened, something I thought might never happen....
Moogie appears to have gone MIA - unless I missed something, or got missed off the mailing list telling people what she was gonna be upto...
So Anyone know, anyone spotted her at a 7-11, Walmart or other such locale?
Or maybe.... The kids have had it with mom and decided they are gonna run the show and have hypnotised OWW into doing their bidding... must check out his blog to see if anything's happening.

Doh! or should that be Double Doh!

Do you hate it when you click on the "Save as Draft" button instead of publish post button on a post and then forget and go back the next day and not notice the post is missing and post then realise it's missing and go to start typing it again and notice a "draft" post which is Identical to the one that is "missing". Well I didn't quite re-type the post I checked before I did that..
If anyone is really good with MS Access 2000 databse stuff, HELP!, I've dug myself a hole and can't get out, I try something and it refuses to work I think I'm gonna have to start from scratch and redo the whole database, all the tables, forms & the query I've done so far as it's just too plain I want to be able to change the "style" but I can't seem to be able to do anything but change the color, oh well... Insanity here I come, oh and I need it done by erm yesterday..

Ophs

Well I leave my computers on 24 / 7 so it can number crunch for whatever distributed computing project takes my fancy. That's right I said computers, I got 4 of 'em and the one I do all my blogging on and that has all the programs I regularly use otherwise known as the Beast cos it's the best one, well it was a little hot last week but I notice the Processor temprature of it was a bit on the High side, it was 57C (134F) this was with the side of the case off and a fan blowing air in from that side but nothing helped, I even stopped the project it was running and ran a program I have called CPU Idle Extreme which is puts it under full load but turns bits of the processor off in doing so and cools the CPU down by making it produce less heat.. Anyway I got a new case for it and though while I transfer it to a new case with a front mount for a fan and a prefitted rear fan I'll check the Heatsink on the processor and see how much thermal transfer compound there is on there between the processor and it, well there wasn't much and I couldn't reuse the old stuff as I couldn't scrap it in to a useable pile.. I went okay, I'll clean it off and go find the tube of thermal paste I have, it's around here somewhere. Of course I couldn't find it (don't say it typical man can't find nothing) this was at 6:30 lastnight and I know you can't turn a processor of the speed I have on without a heatsink on it and without something to translate the heat from processor to heatsink. So I was stuck without my main computer for about 18hrs will I wait for the computer shop to open earlier on today.. Well I got it back up and running and so far it's doing better - it's 5C cooler at least and that is with the case full buttoned up and it running at full pelt once more - ya...
Rule 1 of building / refurbishing a PC - make sure you have all the tools you'll need in order to do the task at hand..
Building all you need is a small flat bladed screwdriver to undo the screws to open the case, and to put the screws in to hold the motherboard on the back plate, to hold the video card, sound card, tv capture card, etc in the appropriate slot inside the pc and to screw the case closed again once you've connected up the power supply and clipped in the heatsink on to the processor after it's fitted, to fit the hard drives / cd / dvd drives, cd / dvd writer. I could do anyone a step by step on how to build a pc if anyone wants to do it, well I think I pretty well could since all 4 of the machines I have here are hand built + I've oversaw a mate build his 1st pc..
Have fun and rememeber if your pc says it's getting hot check the fans..
I recommend getting Motherboard Monitor 5 < click the link to go to the website at livewiredev.com..
You need a little knowledge of what motherboard you have in the machine. A program that will tell you the manufacturer and the manfacturers number of your motherboard is a program called CPU-Z, Click Here it will tell you what processor you have as well as a few more peices of info, useful to have if you want to add more memory to it and need to know what type you have in it and what speed it is..you just look up the manufacturer then click the "+" beside that one and look for the number it gives you or as close as you can find, most motherboards are listed, it even has most dell / e-machine / hp ones included :)

Darn well blogger

Well folks I did attempt to change the template for my blog, got a nice shiny silver background for the top with an edge to it.

I attempted to introduce this to blogger and well it didn't like at all did weird things, darn freaking thing... *beats blogger round head several time*.. The result was I had to the orignal template layout and start again, thank god for backups (well just about).. I've decided I'll leave the sidebar on the right as well otherwise my site breaks in IE :|.. Just looked at it again and its still broken but it now in a weird place { swears some more } One day I will will win blogger, you will see.. maybe I need to go to the darkside? or maybe I'm already on the darkside and need to return to the light!

Gee It's warm this week

Hmm well I guess summer is finally here, it's warm.. Well warmer than normal right now I'm sitting at my PC sweating, with the skylight open, trying to cool down my attic space, my sanctuary.. Right now it's about 12C outside (not hot for some but this is 12:30am) and it's gonna be more of the same.. maybe even hotter.. lol
Gonna be cooler tommorrow night though thank god..

A Blogger A to Z Additional

Hmm well I've though about it some more and was thinking that maybe the Chapter Titles could have the A to Z theme running through them instead of the chapter subject being the A to Z theme object.. Sounds like a much easier idea to me
Well Guys what da ya think?

Tuesday, June 07, 2005

A Blogger A to Z

Well Thanks to "Fiesty Productions" we've had a few Blog Stories now,
We've had a Blog Novella, a Blog Noir and a Blog Western.
Now I'm gonna suggest something totally outlandish and off the planet kinda.
Before I begin let me introduce someone:
Step Forward, Ms Kinsey Milhone, PI, lives in the Southern Calafornia Town of Santa Teresa, she's been shot at, run down, killed people in self defence. Found people that are dead, alive having faked death, money, but most of all uncovered the truth..
You can blame the PI for the idea, or rather you can blame her Alter Ego, Step forward Sue Grafton Author Extraordinare.
Heres the pitch:
A 26 part blog Story.. Why 26 part, 1 part for each letter in the English Dictionary, just like the Alphabet Series Sue Grafton is writing..
Now what is the setting of this story well thinking somewhere in the USA, what each chapter is about well that is up to the writers of each chapter.. but the main subject has to link back to the previous one and be able to link forward to the next. You could easily set up one thing in a chapter and use it as cover in another, a bit like providing an Alias to cover up a Bungled robbery you get the idea yet..
Thoughs much appreached..
This is only a real open idea at the moment but who knows..

Re: I'm Mad I tell ya...

Well let me fill you in on how it went on saturday...
Went to local flower shop to pick up a generic bunch of flowers, well I needed a gift that wouldn't be misinterpreted.. Well that and I needed to go shopping for some more DVD's and the shop I use is nearby the flower shop on the high street.. Mind you typical ATM for my bank was "down" :| I think that and the other main branch near me are down every other weekend due to the fact they either a) run out of cash b) are needing major refrubishment and a kick ass hardware / software upgrade... but enough of that...
I got the DVD's first thankfully I could pay for them on my card..
I got Ocean's Tweleve, Lemony Snicket's - A Series of Misadventures and National Tresure. I then got the flowers and drove to see my ex-girlfriend and Jen - you and everyone I told about this though the same thing I'm NUTS..
But well it was a nice enough day, rain and sunshine, must be a Scottish Summer...
I got there, parked up, It wasn't raining at that point, it was nice.
I knocked on the door, wasn't sure it was the right house as car wasn't the one I expected but everything else was the same, heard the dog, I though right house..
My ex answered and I went Happy birthday Caroline, her mouth dropped and she made a sound something like "Oh" then said thanks.. I was invited in and give her mother a shook as well :D We chatted for a while, catching up on what we were all doing now.
All in all a fun few hours. I had to laugh a few times on the journey back it was that fun.. The look on Caroline's Face said it all :D

A helping hand for bloging

Okay I know many of you out there are driven to distraction at the fact that your latest incarnation of your blog looks great in X but not in Y...
here is what I do.
go to the template tab and copy the entire template, blogger spefics and all and then paste it into my favourite text editor which is UltraEdit it's a good all round editor but it's not freeware, it has syntax highlighting, i.e all the HTML Tags get highlighted, it also offers auto indent, which is great if your doing stuff and want the whole thing to follow on below it so it's all neat and tidy
Example:

<DIV ID="content">
<DIV ID="header">
<DIV>
<H1><ItemPage><A HREF="<$BlogURL$>"></ItemPage>
<$BlogTitle$>
<ItemPage></A></ItemPage></H1>
</DIV>
</DIV>
<!-- Begin #sidebar -->
<DIV ID="sidebar">
<P ID="description"><$BlogDescription$></P>
<!-- Begin #profile-container -->
<$BlogMemberProfile$>
<!-- End #profile -->
<MainOrArchivePage>
<H2 CLASS="sidebar-title">Blogger Links</H2>
<UL>
<LI><A HREF="http://perspectacles.blogspot.com/">The Adventures of
<LI><A HREF="http://www.moogiesworld.com/">Moogies World</A>
<LI><A HREF="http://www.daxmontana.net/">The Dax Files</A></LI>
<LI><A HREF="http://feistyrepartee.mu.nu/">Fiesty Repartee</A>
<LI><A HREF="http://GopherTheAngelic.deardiary.net/">My Old Dear
</UL>
<BR>

This is a section of the template for this side.. see how it's all laid out?
you get what I'm on about now?
Also it lets you see how it looks in a browser window. I have both IE 6, Netscape and Firefox installed on here so I can do local previews of pages.
the Url for UltraEdit is UltraEdit.com
you won't actually see any of the "content" just some strange things like $BlogDescription$ etc as they only work on blogger itself.
Now once you have it "playing" how you want, save it as an html file that way you can go back and change that one rather than the one online - you may wish to save the images you use somewhere, but I think most templates link images back to blogger anyway.
Now all you need to do is the reverse of what you did earlier and copy the whole template back into the "Template" on blogger and do a preview to make sure it's done right.. if so Save and your done if not.. you have a local copy you can play around with some more...
Hope all that helps.. if not e-mail me :P

A Western Blog - Chapter 7 is up...

Well what can I say about this Tale of revenge, double dealing with more twist in it that a couple of corkscrews..
The Grand Finale and oh boy was it worth the waiting for...
If you haven't read the story so far, where ya been? Hiding under a rock for the past 7 weeks or worse had no access to the internet (goes lightheaded at the meer thought)
well here are the other chapters in order...
Chapter 1 from within "The Dax Files"
Chapter 2 from Moogie, setting the scene some more.
Chapter 3 from the Nitwit, the attack with a twist.
Chapter 4 from Kelley, The aftermath.
Chapter 5 from Eric, a twist or 2 in the tale perhaps?
Chapter 6 from Pammy, the payoff perhaps?

I'm Mad I tell ya...

Ok call me totally INSANE if you will..
Today is my ex-girlfriend's birthday, now we are still "friends" or I think we are we rarely talk but then again we don't have much to talk about. Anyway I have a card all written out and I'm gonna pick a bunch of flower tommorrow and take 'em over, that's gonna be fun. I'll keep you all posted (I can tell by the comments / lack of them that this hasn't quite been listed as a good blog or something like that - lol call me paranoid if ya like)..
Hmm reminds me where can I get a referal / hit count tool from?

Re: We Completly 0w3nd th3m...

Hmm I can see 1 confused commenter... hmm well how can I clarify this..
my Clan 7.62SQ play a game called Joint Operations which has 2 versions, one is an add-on to the other basically.. Now given that. If you say your "0wn1ng" someone it means your killing them repeatedly in whatever game your playing, but giving them a sporting chance to fight back.. so when I say "We Completly 0wn3nd" them we did just that kept killing them, kept them out of the scoring zone aka the "Hot zone" as there are various map type you can play on the game and the one we were playing is called "Team King of the Hill" where the "hot zone" is the hill and you score points for being in the zone and for killing the enemy who are attacking the zone or who are in the zone defending and a whole lot of other things too, like reviving people if your a medic.. Plus things like killing them with a headshot and double kill (a rarity - 2 people with 1 single bullet).. I hope that clears this up...
If not please feel free to go to the 762sq link on my sidebar..

We Completly 0w3nd th3m...

Well as some of you may know I'm a member of 7.62SQ Clan. I decided after much deliberation to rejoin after I left, Call me INSANE but well it had to be done. Played for a few games in a match last night and did not bad.. We had another match tonight and well what can I say we totally 0w3nd them, that is to say we beat them hands down..
Now what is so special about this as we normally win every map we play? Was that the other squad was ex-7.62SQ members that had erm left cos the didn't like Team Leader Freak's way of doing things, ya see he'd been busy and left them in temporary charge of things and well the power went to their heads, when he came back they weren't happy said that he wasn't doing enough for the squad as in getting match play and such so they left and formed a new squad called TAF - Tactical Assult Farce sorry Force... well they came on our server a while back and talked shit about "owing" us when in fact they joined when 1 side was winning and basically did no real work. So we went into thier Server with spoof names and took the piss, they banned basically all of us and wouldn't accept a friendly match, so we got another squad to challange them and borrowed their server for the evening and went in with thier tag on, and different names I went from being Gopher 7.62SQ to F.A.R. Jesus , well I was a medic and we all know "Jesus Saves" :D. Well we won 3-1 and in the map we lost we won over all on kills it was only because they managed to get to the "hot zone" and keep it they they won, it was a narrow victory a matter of 10 seconds zone time... but after we won the 4th map, Freak said "You've Just Been Owned by 7.62SQ" and then we all went and said who we were, lets just say SB (TAF leader) then said we was "cheater" but we 0wned them TOTALLY... It was funny to say the least....

hmm Darn what a chapter....

Hmm gosh darn it, Pammy has managed to out do all the others with her chapter this just gets better and better, I look forward to next weeks installment...
A Blogger Western Latest installment

All I have to say is "ouch"& "squeek"...

A little more about me...

Hmm well I was thinking and my blogger profile doesn't begin to really tell you anything much about me.. It's a little too analytical, impersonal and right now I can't be bothered to mess around with it and change it so it reflects me more...
Just flicked through my music collection and realised I have everything from
Punk Rock to Modern Jazz To Dance, Hip Hop to Folk to Classical to Country to pretty much anywhere and back again.
From Greenday, Daft Punk & Linkin Park to Jamie Cullum, Joss Stone, Norah Jones, Katie Melua. From the Chemical Brothers, Faithless Outkast, The Streets, Eminem, Ian Van Dah & DJ Tim Westwood to Local Folk Artist Bruce Davies. From Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven to Faith Hill, Toby Keith and Little Billy Gilman.
From Queen, Athlete, Kaiser Chiefs, Lost Prophets, Keane & Ash to the Foo Fighters, Damien Rice. From Delta Goodrem to Dido to name a few of the artists I have on CD..
Right now I'm listening to the new Faithless Album - Forever Faithless it's good, nice and relaxing like most of the stuff I have, I have the songs in there that are for sad times, good times, bad times and I think I have music for ever mood...

What color are you?

I snagged this test from Sharon, The Domesitic Engineers site...

#AFEEEE

Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're smart and you know it, and want to use your power to help people and relate to others. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well.

Your saturation level is low - You stay out of stressful situations and advise others to do the same. You may not be the go-to person when something really needs done, but you know never to blow things out of proportion.

Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything.

Letter From America

Hmm well I got up today, had a showere, went downstairs to discover the post had actually arrived before I'd even got up. Where I stay this is a sort of regular occurence well it's sometimes here by 8:30, but today it surpassed itself it was up before my parents got up at 7:30...
And there was two letters for me.. One I was expecting which was a DVD of a Precussion Extravagnsa by a member of the Salvation Army called Johnathan Whitmore and my best mate stu was doing all the video work to record the event... which for what I've seen of it, it was a good night.. Stu had the unenviable task of splicing all the video footage together from the various cameras at the event and getting it to syncronize in with the Audio - a definate plus.. the finished product is polished to say the least..
The other was expected just not quite yet.. it was from Sharon and I didn't expect it that soon as well International mail can take a while... I then spent the rest of the day at work with "The Proclaimers - Letter From America" chorus and bits of the song going around in my head.. Thank you sharon for brightening my day :)

Don't you just hate....

Don't ya just hate when you talk yourself into something. Hmm I've made that mistake a few times you would think I'd have learned by now. Nope, talked myself into helping someone set up a database to consolidate several excel workbooks into one file, now I need to be able to query this database with all the data and I think I had better include a "delete" recovery option so as to be able to recover data that has been accidently changed or somehow enable "user" levels. Oh the joys of Access Databases, which I now need to learn how to set up and manage properly. The Set-up looks easy enough but it's the switchboard, the layout of the data to be displayed etc that will be the fun parts of this but I think I'll get by need to practice a little, I'm sure I'll get it... If you hear a funny noise one day it's okay it'll be my beating by brains out with a wooden spoon..
