Now it's totally finished...

Well this is really just a short, short update to say yeah the house is now totally and utterly finished everything is in it's place and as soon as I can I'll try and put some photos up, pre / post.
I'll warn ya now the pre ones are a bit scary and not for the faint hearted lol... It's like if this was your house would you really wanna be here...

In other news, well work is work got everything in place for as much automation as possible I do hope..
I got most of it written down some place too incase I'm off.. I really should re-write it in a neater multipage format so anyone can take over if needed without having to call anyone, i.e me or the accounts manager as well she's a pain in the ass and I'd get it in the neck for not explaining / leaving notes, probably will anyway but I'm not giving her a fucking excuse to be rude as fuck to me, only person who can get away with that is the boss, he never would be rude, not intentionally.
Oh yeah it's someone's birthday tomorrow as well..
So you may wish to slip over to her blog and wish her a happy birthday, I won't say how old she is as well I'm too much of a gentleman for that.

Yeah, that's right our poor surely demented by now decorator has finished the house, all that needs doing now is the new carpet laid in the spare room, the new shower screen to go up, a items to swapped over in the bathroom which can wait till the screen goes up.. I would recommend this guy to anyone but hmm I think he's booked till this time next year or there abouts, yeah he's that popular and he's good..
So I can at least now relax a bit more... yeah maybe just maybe...

Yes well I am alive, functioning as a human no idea!
Work right now is crap someone doing my head in, it's causing me grief and argh I just wanna forget work so I've been playing lots of WoW and CoH etc and throwing myself into doing other stuff.

The house is coming along nicely, apart from my mother and my sisters doing each others heads in they are so alike it's unreal.

I had to go and get another keyboard and mouse as well I think I wore the mouse out or I didn't charge the batteries enough so it kept screwing up..

I choose a link from my blogroll and then went randomly about I could have ended up anywhere with in the blogsphere on any blogspot, typepad or Movable Type Blog.
Moogie because she's a cool lady :), On the Go Mom because well sounds so much like Moogie, Miss Zoot what can I say semi-random there as she transends being a cool mommy how she manages to fit it all in and how as she said did they reach the ages they have it's like where's the time gone. Finally on to Once More with Feeling, I remember an episode of Buffy called just that made me curious to see what it really was yeah life can seem like that you just wish sometimes you could do the same thing again with just a touch more feeling.

so what have I been upto then...

I know I've be some what complacent in regard to posting here and reading other peoples blogs, Laura sorry sweetie, Moogie, Barb, Carmi & a few others I do get around to reading yours eventually... Call it the 5hr time difference...
Well that the fact I can't access it at work, the frown upon most things at work or rather due to the fact we connect through someone else's BB link they have websense which locks down anything remotely FUN or that would give power to the users like computer security websites, forums etc..
Also I've been busy coding stuff for my DC team - Free-DC :D, I don't know If I've mentioned this before but I will mention it now as I got suckered into helping a little then a little more and I'm loving it to be honest. Well except when something is missing that would make life easier or so I'd though until I got the missing part downloaded and installed - I mean the server we run on is in Arizona - Timezone "America/Arizona" now what I'm trying to do for 3 potentially different times is instead of it saying for example : Last Update: 06:14 July 20th, 2008 MST it says for me 11:14 July 20th, 2008 BST now I can get it to 11:14 July 20th, 2008 but it still says MST after it and one tiny part that is meant to allow me to convert from one timezone to another doesn't appear to want to play nice and keeps telling me very politely that it can't do that despite the fact I've looked at it and for all intents and purposes it's correct ARGH!
I've done other things like drop in backgrounds in to stats

See nice yes and also been redoing the layout of all the stats and adding themes and other little features that are fully configurable i.e you can set your theme, but only a few can actually change the themes around.
Well that and helping the poor guy who was basically doing it solo, the stats team is now 4 not 2 I'm learning as I go not hit the "big" stuff yet I'll just keep with the front end prettiness thanks all the actually grabbing of the stats data, the parsing it into something we can work with, checking it against the data we already have and updating as required not been there yet as I've never dealt with the language involved before, PHP + MySQL is bad enough along with a bit of linux command line stuff, Secure FTP / Secure SHell windows keeps me on my toes...
Well the house is coming along, we've stopped for a week just because well it was decided it was best.
Back to it next week...
Oh well that and I've been playing World of Warcraft some more as well as new game (well to me) called Command of Heroes - World War II style game where all I will say is the language is "Adult" - the polite version is "let's throw a grenade at them" ... "Let's give them a ****ing pineapple..."
Anyway back to giving things a bit of a chill - flash fried and quick frozen to death... I love being a frost mage.

2 down, 4 to go

Okay folks I am alive, just been a bit busy last weekend as well it all came together finally well just about.
Sitting room is finally done and dusted although the decorator we got in temporarily won't be getting back as he patched the wallpaper badly, let's just say I could have done a better job at the patching as it don't match wouldn't be so bad if it was like in a corner where it wouldn't be seen but this is in the middle of the wall. Never mind it will get fixed. I put the new lights up, side lights went up no problem, went to put new centre light up only to discover that one of the lampshades was missing and another had a crack in it, I THOUGHT SOMEONE was supposed to have CHECKED all them, and the receipt is somewhere "safe" thankfully was able to return it for a direct replacement which is now up and looks good. Carpet fitter was in on Friday so the carpet is down in there as well as the stairs so I can actually go up and down stairs without this horrible echo of creaky wooden stairs. Saturday saw the arrival of the new furniture so now we have a comfortable place to sit down, dining room table and chairs sits nicely in one corner, a glass display cabinet in another and new matching TV stand in a third. So all in all done and dusted. I had to escape on Saturday thought as well I needed to swap the light and I did a little shopping to boot :D Yeah me practicality.
Sunday well that was Bowlplex once more as nephew wanted to go and always asks me just as he's leaving to go home, if I can take him :|... I won but I managed to lose a nice brown top I had in there somewhere, must phone and find out if it's been found yet.

Well it's been a bit of a slow week not much happening, really nothing...
Decorator hasn't been here all week but with good reason, poor guys mum died last Saturday so he took the week off, quite rightly so but he had already booked 2 weeks holiday as he should have been finished here by now but alas not.
We found someone else and they will be in Monday to do a bit of the work not sure how much they can do as there are still some walls that need skimmed which he don't do.
Work has been well not quiet as well everybody seems to want to get stuff done and we just can seem to get anything cleared away in order to get stuff done as paperwork etc still has to be done and cleared away and we had an engineer on holiday past 2 weeks.
Oh well back to the grindstone tomorrow I suppose...

My Week / 6 degrees

Here is my real post for today..
So what's been really been happening since my last post on the house.
Well the Painter did come in last Saturday and start doing some work has been here all week, the hall, staircase and landing, the wood work's all been done apart from one piece which can't be done as it's needs to be put back up but that can't go on till the paper goes up of which some had to go back as it was damaged. The walls are all ready for papering now, the ceilings are as well. It has been a lot of work as there is quite a bit of woodwork and a lot of the wall needed to be "skimmed". I went out on Thursday (see my other post today). Oh and is it possible to fuck up more than to kiss a friend when they were feeling bad about themselves or was that a good thing, kissed her goodbye on Thursday as well ? All I can say is my heads screwed up now, hers too, although it was meant to be a simple kiss not how it turned out....
Goes to find shovel so he can bury himself somewhere.

Now moving swiftly on to the other part of the title "6 Degrees".
It is said that there are no more than 6 degrees of separation between person A & person B.

Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian

Went to see this Thursday night and by the time I came home I was too tired to actually post about it, yesterday - no let's just leave that where it is..
It follows on roughly 1300 years after the the children left Narnia where it appeared only a short time had passed in the real world. 1 Year on in their time and they are awaiting the train, however someone had been given hold of Susan's fabled horn, and told only to use it when he felt in grave danger.
So Prince Caspian not knowing any better when he meets his first Narnian blows the horn, of course on the sight of the horn the 2 Narnians he encounters know what it is and defend him (after knocking him out for his own safety), and Susan, Edward, Peter and Young Lucy get dragged back to Narnia and wonder where they are, it's as usual left to Lucy and Edward to figure it all out.
The arrive back at "Cair Paravel", the palace they once ruled over Narnia with and they soon set out to find out what's going on after getting their battle gear,
King Peter the Magnificent with his sword and shield, King Edward the Just with his sword, Queen Susan the Gentle with her bow and arrow and Queen Lucy the Valiant with her deadly little dagger and bottle of Fire Flower which can heal the gravest of wounds.
They do bump into Caspian and well Peter kinda kicks his but when they battle, they soon realise he's the one that called them and it's game on to get the status qua back as Prince Caspian should by all rights be dead, since his scheming Uncle Miraz now has a son and heir to the throne and thus can declare himself King.
They all return to the Castle Prince Caspian escaped from since well most of his Uncles forces are out looking for him and the others so it will be an easy task..
Which it's not, the prince does manage to rescue his tutor who gave him the horn in the 1st place, but it's at a loss.
Everyone is now wondering where Aslan is but we are reminded nothing happens the same way twice, The White Witch makes a brief appearance when prince Caspian is tricked by her old right hand dwarf and almost comes back but this time Edward stops her.
There is a good battle after this and it could be compared to the great battle from the second of the Lord of the Rings films and just like that one, Aslan roars in and wakens up the trees as it's time which then proceed to destroy some of the war machine. There is more than this but why spoil it all..

Over all this is a good film, death count is up but once again done without all the blood and gore. Oh and I will say I love "Reepicheep" he maybe a mouse but has a heart as big as Aslan himself oh yeah and him and his mates kick butt :)

Well I'd rather be someplace else right now than here, although the painter is meant to start THURSDAY!!, mum arrives back on Sunday. Need I say anymore?

Yeah, I heard that from the back, It did work (at one point in the semi-recent past).
Now as to where that someplace could be is anyone's guess, bleh why do we need passports...

And Then . . .

And then there was a week where 0 happened...
Serious 0 happened last week, the decorator appears to be MIA somewhere else, didn't book him so can't confirm or deny he actually said he'd come but I have his number it will be getting called. Mum does know all this as she did ask and I don't lie to mum it's not needed. The "Twins" are buying the house they go see the bank et al tomorrow about it all, but from the looks of it they get the mortgage I pay the bloody thing as well as food etc.. fair hell no but I am totally and utterly past caring bloody more anymore...
They said it will be between this and that, and this will happen and if this happens we'll discuss it at the time,etc., etc. I went "fine" in a pissed off tone.. I was told ".. well you had the chance to buy it, we didn't think you wanted to so we're buying it.". I went "fine" to that too..
Oh and after 15 yrs then it's their "profit" time unless I've bought them out so to speak blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!
Oh they've figured out I'm pissed off at the painter not arriving but apprently he's been called 4 times and no return calls...

Ok time for that weekly update, I will dear reader try to post more, I know, I know I keep saying that!
Okay so what's begins and what's ended I here you say...
Well my dear colleague at work has decided she no longer wants to be my friend, her loss, more later this is the summary paragraph. As to the begins well the painter is meant to be starting this week but I just found out today he doesn't know all the paint that's to be used ARGH!

Ok, now on to the reasoning behind the ending, I tell you this it's petty to say the least, she picked the wrong night to annoy me is all I will say. Now last Monday we were meant to go out and see the new "Indian Jones" movie, which I saw today with my nephew and his friend, well I needed to spend quality time with him and it was either a movie or bowling, and believe you me bowling was out. Anyway back to point, I send my now ex-friend a text message saying I still had a bit to do in the house and I wanted it done for the painter coming in or words to that effect, it's not like she's not called off nights out before, see a few previous posts for that. Well I actually did nothing on Monday as after work I was totally shattered having worked quite a long day on the Sunday, all weekend was work. I had said the movie was "on hold" meaning we could reschedule for a later date, I was thinking of today for that but that was blown totally! Now I had said this to her, that I was sorry but I had too much to do and I actually ended up doing nothing. Friday it all comes out, I was tired and she comes out with something like you should try a weekend shift in here and well then goes on about how she was looking forward to seeing the movie on Monday and how it put a damper on her day (or something like that), I went "Now you know how I felt!" real close and to her face......
Of course this got the exact reaction I expected, yeah she's that predictable, I got
that it wasn't very nice and that's she's always given me a days notice if she wasn't going to be able to make it, well that's Bollocks for a start, I've seen me ready to head out the door when my phone's went for her to cancel!! I have went myself a few times as I've really wanted to see the film in question, anyway later on I check my phone and see 2 messages, 1st message read Bye, let's just keep this professional or something like that basically friendship over, her loss... 2nd message was a sorry for what she said earlier, I reply as it was the later message I think with okay, you mean the "Bye" message, I get back "No, not that and don't phone me at Home!", I went "okay, this will be the last text message I send to you", done and dusted. I mean as I was driving home, my phone goes it's my "colleague" I had put one of the phones in the office on divert to another basically got a few phones in the place some It's okay to divert others it's not advisable to divert, we got main office phone + 5 other phones for various things. Now it's simple enough to divert / remove divert it's a standard code followed by extn / external number , I had one phone diverted to the main phone and got a call on how to cancel it. I "blinked" at this, I went it's as the same code as you use to divert it after you've come back in the office, she went on about it would be hard later on when she went to lock up and had to divert the phone to the mobile we got, I shook my head at this, and NO she's not blonde, if she was she could be forgiven....

Now onto the "beginning" or is it, I have no actual idea if the painter is starting this week or not as like I said he don't know what all the paint colours he needs, Why oh WHY could someone not have told me this LAST week and this could have been all sorted out, Freaking Secret service would be less trouble. Oh that and well my sister who arranged it all hasn't actually heard from him a start date, can you believe that... If he don't freaking start tomorrow or Tuesday I think I go "nucking futs" at someone, and dear reader can ya blame me.

Okay now onto what else has been happening since my last post.
Well like I said the laminate flooring in the upstairs hall was "okay" but i felt it floated around a bit as well dear dad had fitted it under the skirting and some if not all of the walls have nothing really at the bottom to stop anything just going on, result the boards could move about. I took it all out and relaid it with the correct bits to go under the doors, although I had to modify them so the fitted right. That's almost done as I did that yesterday and today mainly all the boards had to be cut a slow task as some had cut outs to go around the woodwork / pipework, just need to trim a few more boards and I'm done it will be all tight and won't move well it will at the stairs but I need speak to the carpet fitter and see what he's doing so I can get the right part for there. Kitchen is done, I've not checked a few of the windows as I think they are all sanded enough to be painted, will find out soon enough, well maybe :P. I do know that the 2 bedrooms are fine as is the living room.
I did take Monday off and who can blame me I worked non-stop last weekend, just like I did this weekend I stopped last night at 11pm this was from about 10am, did some shopping, put washing on, did some of the floor, dumped all the bags of wall paper I had kicking about, lost count of the number of these, a lot is all I can say, back to the floor, ate, floor till 11pm - it was dark and I was screwing up, I've managed to cover up the few screw ups - not really my fault just seems strange I measured it very accurately and was too short sometimes :(. Well Wednesday was a fun morning, we'd arranged an uplift of stuff that was going out and well no-one had told me it needed to go out on Tuesday night so it had to go out Wednesday morning, before breakfast had been eaten as well and before "Tea" had even touched my lips! Well we also had the council in to replace the kitchen ceiling as water had leaked through it and it had black mold on it not nice at all! Nice new ceiling now. Finished the Kitchen between Thursday and Friday nights. I'm taking the week off as I don't think I need to do anything next week at home.
Oh and I persuaded mum to stay away another week, "brownie" points to me..

Sunday Update

Remember how I said all that needed doing was the kitchen after I'd finished the spare room erm well I found out the spare room ceiling was being redone as well as the paint / paper was cracking so off it came slowly got most of it yesterday. The top landing ceiling was to come off as well, this basically leads down the stairs now thankful (or rather unthankfully there was a "false ceiling" put in at some point so as to make it easier to paper the ceiling it's either that or you have a piece of ceiling which is about 12 ft high to try and get to and paper not easy at all, now thing was the ceiling looked loose or rather one part did as you could move it with you hand like it just needed renailed but of course had to check behind it to find where to put the nail and see........
Well erm at some point many, many years ago the council put insulation in the attic, not the standard yellow coloured "glass wool" insulation you see, this was what looks like recycled shreaded paper - great insulator / noise killer, anyway at some point or other, before / after someone must have put their foot through the ceiling right near the top of the false ceiling (perhaps the reason it was done), anyway of course you can imagine what's happened quite a quantity of this paper stuff had fallen in. We took it off to have a look end well, 4 bags + a load in the bin later, we had cleared it away, of course dust everywhere because it was that fine.
So today I spent doing a little bit of ironing either that or no shirt, trousers for work tomorrow, finishing off the ceiling in the spare room, sweeping all that into a black bag. Doing the same to the top landing ceiling so those are all done.
Now all that is left is the kitchen and all I now need to do is check all the windows are sanded down sufficiently to paint it. Oh yeah and I noticed the laminate flooring upstairs needs looked at as some of it has moved - need to nail it down and get the right bits for doorways so that it all looks nice since it just had metal strips down from when there was carpet everywhere and not carpet one side laminate the other.

This is the week that was..

Okay update time, I suppose.
A zen like peace is now in session, well I had to turn the music down it is late :p.
Mother arrived safe and well down south and has been relaxing all week, mainly sleeping but hey she needed it, she's off to another cousin's tomorrow for a week then to my aunt's for a week and we'll see what happens from there. Oh yeah my cousin after she called on the thursday phoned my sister and erm had a go (well she's allowed, mum is her godmother after all:D), with one of my other cousins helping out, it isn't a good idea to upset that cousin, I was glad I was sitting down when I was told this as I was laughing so hard, she did say mum looks a lot better now gone is the "someone's given me a black eye" look so result :). I cried at that but don't tell anyone..

My week has been interesting.
Saturday - took out and put back the fire surround thing once I had taken away all the bits of wallpaper from behind - I then proceeded to clear the whole wall with help of a mate.. Sisters turned up 1 after the other sort of. "Thinking out loud" in the kitchen as to how to re-arrange it, I said "no" often, till they gave in. It might not seem functional but I like it the way it is and I can work in it even if those 2 can't, oh and they did try and throw stuff out that "wasn't any use" (to them). It was put back and the place re-arranged so I can work it.
Sunday did the shopping and sanded down mum's bedroom - which I've discovered needs looked at as it's not working 100% it sticks not good.
Monday - back at work and thus I couldn't be bothered doing anything so just chilled.
Tuesday - busy (ish) at work so again chilled out I just think I needed the "space" even if mate did come round.
Wednesday - Work and Invaded as older sister did say she'd be down I said just do the bottom hall as it's not much and that will do. Other sister decides to come down afterwards and work clearing the paper off the stairs - I finished it AND tidied up..
Thursday - Work and I finished the top hall off as well as the bit not done on the stairs, thank god the ceiling is being re-papered as half of it has come off (it's bleeding woodchip - whoever invented that paper needs shot it's cheap, nasty and a swine to remove).
Friday - Work, yeah the WEEKEND! did some work on the spare room to clear it and did about 30% of the room will do the rest tomorrow and hit the kitchen on sunday as that is all that is left really.
Next week - double check it's all been done, touch up sanding etc..

I don't know what's more stressful right now work or home..

Right now I don't honestly know what's more stressful...
A) Work - trying to figure out where each invoice I have listed in the system is and what it pertains to as well all I have is Invoice number,a name as the descriptor and create date, all is fine and well but how am I supposed to tell the invoice for a call out charge, a repair of a system, the replacement of an alarm or the general annual maintenance internal invoices when the file name is just the name who it's went to!
ARGH, I mean I've got to try and figure out who's paid for their maintenance this year and thus need to have their alarm service but I'm STRUGGLING to understand the electronic filing system that's been employed as nothing adds up... The JOYS!

B) Home - the walls are bare, the floors are bare, decorator coming in 2 weeks, walls look smooth enough to me to paper onto for me oh that and I'm going to have to try and figure out how the FUCK I'm going to fix a light in the bathroom that's been knocked out due to BITCH 1 being over zealous when she was taking the paper off the ceiling - ARGH! It's so bad , I'm booking mother on a flight down south to visit my cousin for a while, then my aunts etc. Still don't know when she wants to go as she needs to sort a few things out 1st. I am also at the end of my tether any more and I'm just gonna blow and things will get freaking messy.
Sisters who the FUNK would have them, mine I wouldn't give them to my worst enemy, yeah they are that bad!

Update time

Okay so what has happened since my last actual post (the 2 below they are side notes).
Well let me see, in no particular datal order.
I've been to the Dental Place - they went to try and fix the tooth I said was bugging me and they can't fix it really it will have to come out or it will give me more grief. So I've to book another appointment and get an impression taken so that I can have that tooth and a few others that are now missing (darn sweet tooth of mine, well that and forgetting to brush sometimes).
So yeah basically I'm gonna end up with a few teeth that ain't my own - lovely.
Remember the house, well there is defiantly no wallpaper left or carpets they have all gone. There was a wardrobe that I was going to take to pieces and bring down but I never got that chance, FUCKING impatient BITCHES sorry sisters of mine decided not to wait even although the arranged collection date was oh a week away, all the stuff to be picked up was picked up last Wednesday, they needed it out so out it came but it would fit around the corner of the stairs so they basically destroyed the handrail, spindles and baseplace on one side of the stairs, so they could get this thing out, it went out in bits. Now I'm having to replace that as well, was hoping not to just sand it down so it could be painted but NO!!! I think you can imagine the sort of anger level I hit at when I saw it.
Oh and I get this bullshit about "picking sides" again, when will those 2 learn I've picked already but they are too stupid to notice.
On another note, the new carpets are picked and mum went back to the place she's getting her new suite from and saw a few items she like that were exactly as she wanted..

Oh yeah speaking of things mum likes, I was asked to go pick some stuff up on the way home one day from the local Argos, I just managed to fit it in the car, it was bit tight shall we say. I had the next day off due to car getting a new sump fitted, well £ 194 later it was done..
Anyway I'm at home and the rest of the Argos order arrives and I'm like What the freaking hell is all this doing here, oh that and mum's not pleased either.
They had ordered a new dinner service (we hated the cups), new kettle n toaster set - we can never get a toast that toasts just right it's either black/deep brown or white instead of the golden colour we like - don't need either of them. Bread bin - we got one of them and it's useable, also to match it tea, coffee & sugar containers - both went back no need for them. Black Marble place mats - I was like erm "NO" - sent back as mum didn't like at all. New Cutlery to go with it all - looked shit. This was all put up the stairs out the way, it was then brought back down put in the sitting room by my older sister, younger one had to go pick up le brat I mean the nephew, she then Stormed out - toys out the pram style, bank card was handed back with words like "there so you can accuse me of stealing your money!", done in a not very nice way really. It was all done to fact that all the stuff was bought but no receipts were ever given to my mum so she could see how much she was spending, I now have all of them, the stuff went back to Argos and the money is back in the account.
I've got around to sanding down the woodwork that needs doing so that it can be painted and I've sourced a new hand rail, base rail, spindles - I just need to get them from the shop home, they won't fit in car, 2.4m long no way, going to have to work that one out.
The decorator will be here at the end of the month.
Oh the weather this week wasn't too bad - pity all the good stuff happened while I was stuck in the office... was around low 70's all week, weekend it rained.
Work however is good.
